Greenfield, the birthplace of Hoosier Poet James Whitcomb Riley, is host to one of the state’s largest festivals – the Riley Festival – that attracts 50,000-70,000 visitors each October. Hancock County is served by various interstate highways: I-70 passing through the heart of Hancock County, I-74 just 15 miles to the south, and I-69 only 14 miles to the north.
